mourning the Sun
i guess i'm chatty this evening... i'm just sitting here in the Den and noticing that here at 6:30pm it is almost dark... only a few weeks ago on the 4th we were having to wait until almost 9:30pm so it was dark enough to do fireworks...
i guess this means summer is almost done... it's been raining off and on for a couple of days but it's kept the temps cool... it's suppose to get real warm next week (and when i say warm people here melt at around 75 degrees)... anyway thats it for now!

Finally got the boys baseball pic's.. ok off in the mail they go to Grandparents... or maybe just to CA i'll bring them to AR with me net week...

Harry Potter Mania!!

Well i broke down and took the kids today to see Harry Potter.. was going to wait until we went to see Grandma and Grandpa in AR but it was a Rainy day and it was either go see a movie or strangle the kids.. i opted for the better of the two all be it more expensive of the 2 options...

i think it was the best of the movies so far.. i mean the book is probably my fav. out of the series so far so it had that going for it in the first place.. of coarse it had to omit some great parts of the book that of coarse were VERY noticable if you've read the book but probably had not much to do with the underlined plot if you hadn't... (although i would have LOVED LOVED LOVED for luna lovegood's Dad's competing tabloid story line to get a chance).. the boys loved it KayLea found it a bit long (i debated weather or not to even take her.. but the time won out and we went while Ben was still at work)...

now to await the last book.. Bradley is convenced Harry is going to die and i just can't bare the thought of that!!! i almost don't want to even read it because i'm afraid i'll be dissopointed in the ending (i havn't had an "ending" to allot of things that i've loved so i have allot riding on this one!) anyway i suppose if this is the only thing i have to fret about then all is well in the world!

sorry no fireworks pic's
the fireworks show was great.. Hunter on the other hand wasn't acting all that great so i spent most of my time getting him to listen to me.. grrrrrr.. the fireworks show lasted a little more than a half hour.. can you believe it.. you can get a fireworks show to last that long.. i was amazed.. they are really into their fireworks here..
anyway like a dope i left my memory card in the reader at home and i didn't have my case with my spare (i know why have a spare you ask.. asking myself the same thing!!!) anyway so just know it was great.. havn't heard if we got any body big to show up to the fireworks or the town dinner (we passed on the dinner).. i should find out at the library this week (where i get all of my town dish!)
anyway just didn't want anyone waiting with baited breath for my fireworks pic's that will never post..

Bummer,
short little post.. we stopped by old home day.. it never lives up to the hype.. and a big bummer.. Hilary was suppose to stop by but it was ladybird's funeral today (another bummer) so she cancelled (although everyone was VERY CLEAR to say she was never "scheduled" to come just had it on her.. if she had time schedule)... so that was the only draw for us.. i'll post pic's of the fireworks later tonight...

I Survived Cub Scout day Camp!!!

Today was the completion of the Week of Cub Scout Day Camp... i survived my 5th year.. that's right i have been a Den Leader at day camp (in 3 different states) for 5 years and i have one more year... We all had fun.. KayLea had a blast at their "tot-lot" Bradley also had a blast, he got to hang out all week at the lake with the life guard.. he got to kayak (he wants one now!) Brad isn't a Cub Scout anymore but he's not quite old enough to be a youth leader (Den Chief) so we were so lucky that the life guard had his 11 year old son with him all week and so he was more than happy that he had someone to keep him company.. Bradley also earned his Kayak merit badge (yes, this lifeguard was one in a million!!!) although he can't technically be awarded it until he earns his 1st class (this is making Brad want to jump right on it!)... Hunter had so much fun his favorite was Archery and BB's... He also loved swimming (actually more like water play).. it was a great week..

Tic's, Tears and Fireworks!!!

Thats what our 4th of july consisted of.. KayLea had another Tic in her hair.. you'd think she would want it out as soon as possiable but NO not my girl.. she cried and cried and wanted to be taken to the Dr to take it out (remember she screemed bloody murder when i took her to the Dr AFTER i had the last one out.. go figure!)... this one was tiny and not a deer tic (thankgoodness.. no lime disease scare) and it came out so much easier than the last one (just making me feel even worse because that probably means the last one was in for a few days un-detected)... but it also tells me she needs to be in pig tales through out the summer.. we've never found one when her hair was up only when it's down and sweaty.. i know thats no gurantee but it's enough evidence for me to insist we keep it up...

Our 4th ended up pretty good though.. we went out to lunch then it was raining when it got dark so it was kind of hard getting some of the fire works lit but Ben did a great job and we only had 1 total Dud so it turned out pretty good.. KayLea still did not like the loud or shooting fireworks at all.. she spent almost the whole time with her head buried in my chest until the very end and she finally perked up with a pink sparkler.. (no other color would do!) anyway we set all of ours off then got totally out done by the resort across the street who put on a very nice show.. it's so cool living here!!!
