So all signs point to school tomorrow.. we are still suppose to get a tad bit of the white stuff tonight but in comparesson to what the last week spilled I think we'll be fine. BUT and it's a big one.. KayLea decided now would be a fantastic time to sprout a feaver and sore throat and oh her ear hurts a little too.. so i've called in a sub for tomorrow so I can take her to the Dr and sit and cuddle all day and hold my little girl.. I guess i'm not complaining too much but really it would have been far more convenient for me for her to have been sick during the 3 days last week we had off of school... i'll let her know to schedule these things a little better.. hA!
I guess I never get a day off from being a mommy.. wouldn't want it any other way!

blog-lor
So addmittadly I'm not a "hard core" blogger... I have weeks with out a post and I don't scroll down looking at my e-mail I get weekly seeing how long people gazed at my blog or how many hits I got (don't worry it doesn't tell me WHO just how many your safe to linger or not here!)
But I just found an awesome giveaway here i'm suppose to mention the Targus back pack and the HP mini notebook... awesome!!! but go there or not because if you don't my chances are a tad bit better and just because I mentioned it here on my lil ol' blog i get another entry YEA!

YET ANOTHER SNOW DAY
So we are on day 3 of our snow day trek... I think it's probably my fault.. we had gotten to pretty much no snow and every one's lawns were clear and kinda green and I think I was foolish enough to say.. maybe we'll get away with a mild winter this year.. Ya RIGHT!!! But the bi-product of no school is me being off of work and i was able to spend yesterday with my honey on his BIRTHDAY.. 36 years young... I'll post a picture when I can get cell service to send it to myself.. then post it here..
We were out of power starting late last night and ending an hour ago (about 1:00) we woke up and went to Dunkin Donuts for breakfast (like everyone else and their dog who were out of power) then headed to WalMart for supplies.. water and firewood... we anticipated being out of power for much longer than what we were so we are fully prepared for the "next one" we had plenty of drinking water but hadn't replenished the water to flush the toilet (yes we really DO live in the sticks!)
once again we started reading "Fablehaven".. we got to chapter 5 this time and KayLea actually wants to keep it up for bedtime reading.. once you get past the first chapter it isn't too bad..
so that's what we are up to.. we are expected to get lots more snow so we'll see how the weekend goes..

ohhh snow day
So I woke up to Ben being home around 4:00am saying "honey i'm home" this startled me because he had left about 2 hours before to work... aparentelly he got just a few miles down the road and hit a patch of ice and ended up in a ditch.. he called work then the highway plow stopped and called for help.. the police called a tow truck to get him out of the ditch then the policeman also took him to the ATM so he could pay the guy the 130$... the truck is driveable but Ben was very shook up and now he's pretty sore..
we have a snow day we are up to about 22-24 inches of heavy wet show and its still coming down in buckets.. we have had many semi trucks have to back down our narrow road because it's so slick..
i'm only grateful Ben's accident wasn't worse than it was!
anyway I kinda wanted this snow day, I didn't completely get a handle on the laundry and other various chores so this day is well needed.. along with that the kids school district is piloting a new program where during a specified snow day they do a certain amount of work and if a certain percentage of kids turn in all their work they don't have to make up that snow day. so it's pretty much been like a "home school" day I now have absolutely no doubt I could not homeschool my kids.. we havn't had many arguements about the work in general but getting them to only do school work and stay off facebook or other stuff has been kind of hard.. and an extra added bonus If i make myself available via e-mail and do some research on some modified lesson plans for the students i work with then i get paid for the day too...
so far kayLea and Hunter are done Brad claims he'll be done sometime next week... ha!
so thats us today

more to add to the list
Hunter had his EKG yesterday... all is well.. (at least as far as we know... the Dr will read it and get back with us but nothing was blatenly wrong that the tech had to go get someone else in or anything) I wasn't really worried but like I said anything to do with the Heart I get a little jumpy...
I need to start a running list of the things i'm thankful for... now if we could only get our phone to work like it should.. we can receive calls... we can get our voice mails.. but we can't call out yet.. we are talking like maybe we'll just get the lowest cost phone plan from our AWEFUL phone co. cuz I guess it's not really uncommon for people with SAtelite to have issues with Vonage (it would have been nice for them to TELL us after all this BUT you live and learn I guess!!! but I think we are going to try a few things first.. so just know we aren't ignoring you at all we just have to wait until we get somewhere with a cell signal to call you back!!! but at least we KNOW you called.. I know this sounds all to "back woods"... thats us!

Tender Mercies
So I've been thinking allot about this post for a few weeks now... and day before yesterday after a Dr's appt for Hunter It all became clear... but first I need to go back a little..
I have to confess... I have been driving with a California Drivers license for over 3 years here in NH why you ask... well when I went to get my NH license the nice lady at the counter said DENIED the state of Arkansas says you've been a bad girl and we can't give you driving privileges until you speak with them and clear up your "record"... I had a vague recollection of getting a ticket in Arkansas I also had a vague recollection of appearing in court and paying a fine (for expired tags I THINK?) Also, my parents have had a visit from someone trying to find me about a traffic ticket.. but well I didn't live there and I haven't even lived in Arkansas since just after Brad's 1st birthday (yes that's right folks 12 years ago) and I think the ticket was well before he was born (he turns 14 this year)!. so do I have any kind of paper trail.. being that it was 12 years, more than that many moves to 4 different states that would be a NO!.. so I just put it off.. we had kind of the same thing happen with Ben only with the state of CA. and it cost us well over a thousand dollars to get it taken care of.. but we HAD to it's in his job description to have a valid licence where he resides anyway, sorry getting off topic.. I just kept putting it off.. not smart, I know and low and behold my CA license expired on my last birthday (i thought it was my NEXT B'day but whatever!) and again I found out my blunder when the nice police officer pulled me over for my headlight being out... so anyway I got a ticket for an expired license and it was time to pay the piper I called Arkansas DMV they couldn't find me in their system.. they had to go to an "OLD COMPUTER" (their term not mine) and finally they found me.. I had to call the city of Benton (a city I lived in briefly when we were first married)... she couldn't find me either.. I guess they changed their system of drivers licenses numbers but after a little more looking; low and behold there I was listed as a failer to appear from 1995 I told the lady of my vague recollection that I was certain I had appeared and paid but that I was in need of getting this taken care of and fast and so I said "just tell me what I owe you" she put me on hold (to go to another "old computer" I'm assuming)... got back on the phone and said.. go get your NH license.. I said what do you mean, she said the hold is no longer in the system.. your all set.. I was nearly in tears thanked her over and over almost to embarrassment and the next day went and got my NH license..
TENDER MERCIES!!!
going back even further..
I got laid off at the Elementary School, I got re-assigned to the Middle School IN Hunter's cluster... something that is NEVER done (parents working in same cluster as their own child)!!! Hunter starts having a VERY hard time its evident that SOMETHING is going on with him.. he is way more scattered and disorganized (Even more than usual) and he is floundering and its painful to see but I'M SEEING it for MYSELF... I get feedback from teachers, we speak with school psychologist, I read every book out their about ADHD and I make an appointment with his Pediatrician we sit in this tiny exam room day before yesterday and everything his Dr. is saying is ringing SO TRUE.. Hunter sees it too, he is vocal and participating in the conversation I am PROUD! we talk about our options Medication along with meeting with a specialist to help him learn coping skills and tricks and techniques to help him lead a normal productive life (or at very least get through the 6th grade!).. his DR is through and tells us all the good bad and ugly and of the rare instances of side effects but everything that could possibly happen.. I see Hunter is a little freaked out.. I turn to Hunter and ask HIM.. "what do you think?" he said I don't want to take medicine first.. I have to give him credit for speaking up.. so we are going to start with the specialist and go from there... I have to admit this is a lesson for me too, I am not a patient person and this route will certainly take longer than the quick fix of medicine.. I also know we very well may end up on medicine anyway but I'll know I listened and Hunter knows he was heard and that he is a part of his own life... So we have to go in Tuesday for an E.K.G due to our family history of Heart defects we need to cover all our bases for if we decide on medicine... I'm not too worried but anything having to do with the heart I get a little freaked out by...
All I have to say is how thankful I am for the Tender Mercies of a loving Heavenly Father who knows me and knows what I need even before I do...
Oh and I still had to pay a fine for the ticket.. when your wrong your wrong

whirlwind
So our phone still isn't 100% we got the satelite installed and then the weather decided to get very windy so with in a few hours of the installer leaving we were down... it totally sucks because now it means we have no phone either the guy comes back tomorrow to see whats going on.. i'm beginning to think we just need to hook the phone back up but that will mean lots of fees and it totally goes against how we justified the cost of satelite internet in the first place (the cost of the monthly fee's for the satelite internet plus vonage equal just about what we were paying for phone w/ long distance etc. each month)...
anyway although I must say it's been kind of nice to be with out the phone other than the fact that well we can't call out either...
so thats out news.. we have a week off next week.. we are seeing LION KING a week from tomorrow in Boston... the kids and I are VERY excited..
anyway thats all for now..
