Happy Happy Birthday Benji Dear!!!

So today was the big day... Ben's now 35, he can no longer say he's in his early 30's hehe! and Yes I will soon be hitting the same mile stone but Ben hits them all 6 whole months before I do I keep telling him he gets to warm up the age for me before I get there.. but it's also the 6 months of the year I can say I married an older man!!!
here are pic's of our fun day
Ben decided he wanted Hot Wings and Macaroni and Cheese for his Birthday Dinner, so it was actually a VERY easy dinner and he was happy as a clam.. for his cake he kept changing his mind from a chocolat-ey/caromel-ey, gooey cake to finally he said he wanted Strawberry filling, he didn't care what flavor cake he just wanted Whipped Cream frosting and Strawberries.. music to my ears frankly, so I did a pound cake with fresh strawberries (thank you FLORIDA!) I had purchased these heart silicone baking sheets on clearance just before Valentines day thinking I was doing 2 kids parties I would surly use them, well I didn't so I decided to try them out today.. they actually worked out pretty well but since I did 2 cakes it made it a 4 layer cake it was VERY yummy but very heavy, Ben's actually taking almost half of it to work tomorrow to share with his buddies...

Yes we put 35 candle's on the cake, we joked with Ben that only one more year we'll be able to do that with out buying another pack (the pack we got only had 36 haha).. no it didn't set off the fire alarm!
The Kids got him a shaving cream warmer, he had wanted one for Christmas and we looked and looked and couldn't find one but Hunter and I were shopping at a store that is kinda like Big Lots and he spotted it and insisted we had to get it for Dad for his Birthday... of Coarse my gift to him is his lake trip this weekend where he'll freeze his butt off because it's suppose to snow AGAIN!!!
Happy Birthday Honey We love you!!!

Day 1 of Feb Break... Shoot me NOW!!!

Ok so let me set the scene for you... I have 3 LOVELY children who normally are fairly well behaved (don't scoff!)... only throw in a 5 day stomach flu, 2+ feet of snow, and a little girl that is probably fighting some kind of bug because she can't seem to stay awake and when she is awake she is whining and screaming and you get one frazzled mother who is ready to call the superintendent and INSIST school be called back to session we have snow days to make up after all!!!

Anyway I have no clue how many inches we got yesterday, we were forcasted to get more than 2 feet but it snowed on and off most of the day today also and After Brad went and snow plowed several times today mostly due to the awful heavy wind Ben came home and cleaned up the corners of the entrance of the driveway... Have i mentioned how DONE i am with SNOW!!! Ben is trying to get me to take a picture of our drive way because you can see the several feet of snow that has built up over last few months and thats even after our slight thaw we got a few weeks ago.. Maybe i'll do that tomorrow!

I don't have any idea whats wrong with KayLea but she is SUPER CRANKY and she has taken a nap for the last 3 days (something she hasn't done since she was 2)... she insists her ears don't hurt and although she did up-chuck one night last week I really think it was because she ate a whole box of Peeps and not much else... she's not running a fever and after sleeping for 2 hours this afternoon I made her wake up for fear she would never sleep tonight.. although the nap's don't seem to be doing ANYTHING for her sunny disposition (or lack there of!)

Hunter and Brad are fighting over who gets to plow etc. (you'd think that would be a good thing.. it's really not!) and I'm holding having a friend over later in the week for a sleepover over Hunters head to pry good behavior...

although all 3 seemed to find something great by the end of the day, an hour or so before dinner they all wanted to play outside.. I was skeptical because the wind was still harsh and the temp was VERY LOW but I was at my whits end so I gave in, they somehow got into making snow forts (snow caves really)... they ALL thought it was the coolest thing KayLea LOVED being the guinny pig and going in and trying out the "forts" to see if they needed more room etc.. they probably could have been out there for hours if it hadn't gotten dark...

Tomorrow I think we are going to try for a Movie, we have a play date with another family for a movie on Thursday too so cross our fingers that will be enough to break up the week so I won't want to send them all away to boarding schools by Friday!!!

Oh yea Ben's birthday is Wednesday, only bummer he has to work and Brad has an orthodontist appt and we have scouts that night so I don't know when we'll celebrate more than a cake and happy birthday, but such is life for us old fogies!.. for his birthday he's going to Lake winnapisacki (spelling sucks folks!) and spending the night on the frozen lake in a snow hut.. doesn't sound anything like fun to me but he's wanted to do this for a while and his 35th seemed like a good one to do that.. he's going this weekend so I'll have to take him out for his Birthday sometime after that... and he works so hard he deserves a weekend of ice fishing...

so that's the long and short of it

Snow Days & Stomach Flu..

Ok so I didn't think the weather man would take my last blog post so literally!!!, we got some snow it actually wasn't allot (about 6-7 inches) but it was enough to have ANOTHER snow day, everyone is just plain terrified to try to figure out the last day of school, we are all in a huge state of denial at this point.. My good friend a couple of towns over as of this week is going until June 26th this kind of sickens me because I'm fairly certain we have had MORE snow days than her...

But on a good note everything is all pretty again and so at least it's not awful to take in the atmosphere,

Hunter decided Monday night would be a great time to get REALLY sick with Stomach flu... He was one miserable boy until about Thursday afternoon.. He even thought he was feeling allot better Wednesday afternoon and so I got him a subway sub pretty plain and bland no spicy stuff he normally likes and it threw him into even MORE misery well into the night.. He finally went back to school Friday and has been fine since.. only KayLea threw up night before last but has had no other issues so I'm crossing my fingers that it was just a fluke.. We now have a week off for February break But we decided we aren't heading out of town... one because My mom and Dad are still in Arizona with my sis AND the flights out of Manchester are really booked.. Spring break seems to be slightly easier to get in and out because of the staggered breaks but Feb Break is a tried and true new england tradition and EVERYONE usually goes to Florida... But this year we are home and our good friends from the ward aren't going away this year either so we are planning some fun stuff this week...

So now I should go get back to lysoling or bleaching every surface in my house so that at least I can tell my self I've done everything I can to keep the stomach flu at bay for the rest of the Fam!!!

I think I have an idea of what it's like to live in Antartica..

So we had a February Melt instead of the Usual Jan. Melt.. which is good in one since because we had so much snow local businesses were having to contract people to truck it out of their parking lots.. BUT of coarse with everything there is good and Bad.. the snow is not quite gone and all thats left is the DIRTY, YUCKY, Nasty.. left overs it's hard and icy and practically impossiable to chip away at if your even trying to attempt to lengthen the entry to your drive way... Of coarse there's also the BIG issue of the aweful MUD that comes with said "Feb. Melt" KayLea refused to walk on our driveway because she felt like she was sinking (and lets face it she WAS!)..I guess i'm thankful the mud is gone well I guess to get technical it's not really gone it's well just FROZEN AGAIN.. I"m not wishing for any kind of snow any time soon BUT I'm now in my Winter Bi-P0lar season.. I hate the snow and long for the sweltering 75-80 degree days BUT this ugly snow is getting on my nervs so bad I probably wouldn't be too dissopointed if the light fluffy stuff fell JUST A LITTLE to spruce this place up a bit.. see what WINTER does to you.. who'd a thunk!

So Ben's toe is still giving him trouble.. I keep reminding him the Doc's said 4-6 weeks.. He was actually doing better then he took Brad ice fishing yesterday and because of the already mentioned melt the ice was VERY slick and well he over compensated or something and hurt it AGAIN!!! So he spent the day today with it up and not doing much..

Valentines came and went, I did KayLea and Hunter's party they went off with out a hitch and Ben and I went out to a GREAT dinner at Outback.. which was not only YUMMY but let us reminise about our newly married days where we would have our once or twice a month Dates (always on payday) to Outback... Ben even splurged and got us dessert! YUM! which reminds me to go on about HOW GREAT IT IS TO HAVE AN IN-HOUSE BABYSITTER! Over the last year and a half or so we have been easing Brad into babysitting for longer and longer stints.. we can now safely go a moderate distance for a nice evening out.. We've even done dinner and a movie with out major catastrophie.. Last night we only did dinner because Ben's toe was throbbing..and I think it was probably good because KayLea had too long of a day and was melting down by the time we were on our way home... how did my parents do it with out cell phones>???

Anyway thats all thats going on...

Blessings and Bum Toes

So My Sis is recovering from her almost Hysterectomy.. Prayers are heard thats all I have to say... She did end up having surgery but they were able to leave the vital organs and only take out the extra stuff (I don't want to get into too much detail because well it's kinda not my story to tell!)... Of coarse this doesn't gurantee her a baby any time soon BUT it at least doesn't rule it out completely... She will still have quite a recovery, acording to my Mom (who got her info from my sis's hubby) she has quite a large incision so they could get a clear look at everything and she had a major surgery so I'm so glad My mom is going down next week to be chief cook and bottle washer.. so my Sis can concetrate on recovering...
as for the Bum Toe that would be Ben's he fell down the stairs on Wednesday morning before work (around 1am) and was in agony all day, we went to the Dr, Xrays were taken the first nurce practioner insisted it was broken and at the joint so a Ortho consult was necessary.. then the ortho doc says it's not broken BUT going to be very painful, it's basically like "turf toe" and will hurt like the dickens for 4-6 weeks but should be fine to work on by Tuesday... he got a nerdy boot which he insists makes the toe hurt worse (but if you ask me he's just being vein) and then this morning (way AFTER 1am) he fell AGAIN down the same stairs and wrenched his shoulder.. I told him there's no way we can go to the Dr again the'll think I beat him!!!
So I think he'll be fine I just have to figure out what he's tripping on.. i've made sure nothing is left on the stairs (and there wasn't on the days he fell either)... I"m suppose to be the clumsy one!!!
anyway thats whats going on with us!!!
