Well this week was end of 3rd quarter.. it actually was postponed for a little more than a week because we've had so many snow days that there weren't enough grading days... anyway Bradley once again got spectacular grades and made it again on the high honors list... i can't even complain about his spelling grade because he raised it to a B-.. the only complaint i had was in his social studies class he got a b+ but only got a 2 on the effort grade (they grade on a 4 point scale.. 4 being best 1 being worst) saying he wasn't completing homework... this is a kid that has never had to stay after school (the punishment for missed homework assignments) but he confessed everything had been turned in only some of it wasn't completely finished URRGG!!! so we've tweaked our homework routine here at home but this is the only kid i know that can pull out a b+ and get such a low effort grade.. i told him imagine if you put forth all 4 effort what the grade would be then...
Hunter on the other hand is struggling a bit.. not with the actual work with staying on task and turning in homework and other assignments they don't grade on a normal a-f scale it's a little different except to say Hunter is falling blow average on almost everything mostly because he doesn't want to work he wants to socialize (sound familiar mom?) Hunter is convinced his teacher "hates him"... i honestly don't think this is so, she really encourages his creative writing and always had great things to say about him.. she is also hard on his faults but i think Hunter needs someone to push him or else he will be comfortable being less than he's capable of... also, Hunter has had teachers who don't like him, his Kindergarten teacher, she was older and lets face it Hunter especially in Kinder was a handful... and even from my adult perspective she kind of picked on him...so we are going to have a sit down with his teacher, make some goals etc. etc. oh the dejavu I'm experiencing its almost painful....
I did have some teachers who i just didn't meld with but ONE i will never forget who i know for a fact just did not like me Mrs. Osborne, i was in 5th grade and this woman just couldn't be pleased.. she was a mean old bitty who made it her life's work to humiliate me at any opportunity.. i vividly remember a time we were all reading in class i took my turn reading my paragraph then she said "now KyLeyne when was the war in 1812" in my (then undiagnosed) learning disabled mind i was convinced she was wanting the month and day because she just said the year and i knew i didn't just read that info, i scanned and scanned the paragraph, she said "come on" i just said i don't know it's not in there.. she yelled "IN 1812" the whole class laughed I was crushed... she also was the teacher that told my mother matter-of-factual that she should save her money for college for my sister and brother that i was definitely not college material... OK one last story that i just LOVE to remember, in Mrs. Osborne's class she did this ticket/money incentive program where she would give these tickets for good things.. i of coarse had very few but the star of the class (i can't remember his name but i just remember he was dreamy haha) had like a ton.. a few times a year she would do these auctions where parents would donate crap etc. etc.. well that was about the time my Mom was making these dolls, and she donated one.. well low and behold Mrs. Osborne for what ever reason wasn't there that day and the auction had to be postponed.. because i hadn't actually donated the doll as of yet everyone saw i had it and this dreamy boy said "I'll give you all my tickets if you just give me the doll rather than donate it".. i caved.. i did it!!! (i don't even know if mom knows this haha!) Mrs. Osborne was SOOOOO mad when i got back.. not because i didn't turn in the doll but because i had ALL these tickets.. (or at least that was my perception) i have to admit it was AWESOME to get one up on that old goat!!! Hey i don't have any hard feelings or anything! isn't it interesting how we remember things...

Teachers... sheesh! lol Sorry, being a teacher myself, I enjoyed your post. Sure hope it isn't a personality conflict thing. I haven't had any kids I've really not gotten on with. Although I did get a kid suspended today for fighting. yikes!
I really should have said in the post that i (and my kids) have had some spectacular teachers many more than the negative ones.. I'm sure your one of the great's of that i'm sure!!!
