Well i hadn't planned on posting again today but because I figured out how to post pic's from our yucky dial up and we had some fun today.. Today was our town's "Old Home Day" I'm guessing it's the equivalent to founders day "old home day" is a VERY New England type thing and ALL the towns have some kind of old home festivities but since we are a tourist town anyway it's a good excuse to do it up big...
today at the lake a new sporting shop that just opened up had a dozen or so Kayak's for any one to use (who would sign a liability waver of coarse) for FREE so of coarse Brad who has Kayak'd (is that a word?) before and Hunter who had NEVER wanted a go.. i REALLY wanted them to go in the 2 man but they BOTH insisted they wanted singles so i let them.. they had a BLAST.. Hunter by luck of the draw got an advanced Kayak that was VERY tippy, and so although he did great he was more than ready to come back to shore.. and as the picture shows he had a tiny bit of trouble getting himself turned the right way coming back to the beach... Brad did great and had no trouble.. after he got back there were the son's of their afternoon bus driver who both boys know quite well and they wanted Brad to take them out on the 3 man so they could go farther than the swimming line.. he was glad to oblige and their mom (who couldn't take them because she just had some foot surgery) was so grateful to Brad and just went on and on about what a good boy he is etc.. so i told her HE really should be thanking THEM because he got a 2nd turn.. all in all it was a great thing and of coarse they are going to get a TON of business from this tiny bit of service they did.. we are already talking about maybe investing in a couple of used ones..
These next pic's are just of the kids swimming... the whole time i was sitting there I was thinking to myself that i REALLY need to get a picture of the whole dock area to post.. but then we left and i completely forgot.. just goes to show we just loose all since of time or what ever when we are there.. even today when it's one of the busiest days of the year it was really nice and not too crowded.. the kids had a blast.. KayLea doesn't go too deep so she really doesn't need the floaties but she insists on them so they make her feel more secure so i don't fight it.. She spent most of the time making Mud Pies (i guess the correct term would be Sand Pies but you get the picture)the boys were little fish going all over that's why i only have a pic of Brad's head..
today is one of those days that I just have to take a step back and remember how grateful and lucky we are to live here!!!
